Sandra Bastida
Sandra Bastida was born in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in February 1963 and has lived in Patagonia Argentina for three decades. She worked as an initial level teacher and social psychologist for the Ministry of the Province of Chubut. At the same time, she developed her craft as a painter. His artistic education is not academic. For more than a decade he conducted painting and drawing workshops, courses and seminars. Since 2010 he has participated in individual and collective, national and international exhibitions. His work is in private collections and is part of the Fantapia and Haegeumgang Thematic Museums in South Korea. His paintings vindicate his critical vision of social conflicts without renouncing his immaterial and dreamlike world. In them we can see intuitive forms, simple lines. Her mysterious characters imitate dreams, appearing manifesting their strength and magical power, a reflection of non-physical eyes, allowing her to embody the dreamlike interior of the painter. In the words of the artist ….. I am a painter, I am a feminist who brings the ancestry of all women and their claims, I believe in the magic of painting and in the power it has to exorcise. I like to reveal what is hidden, the layers, the enamels that look like human skin with its stories and scars. Painting to evoke presences and manifestations of the Spirit.
